The newly acquired funds will be strategically utilized to launch an at-home vaginal microbiome screening kit, allowing women to monitor their gynaecological health conveniently from the comfort of their homes.
This screening kit is specifically designed to detect vaginal infections such as thrush and bacterial vaginosis (BV), as well as to assess disruptions in the vaginal microbiome that could lead to a heightened risk of sexually transmitted infections, complications during fertility treatment, and even gynaecological cancers. Additionally, Daye plans to develop a comprehensive digital platform focused on gynaecological health, aimed at alleviating the pain, stigma, and time often associated with women's health issues, ranging from the onset of their first periods to menopause.
With over 60,000 individuals already having used its ISO 13485 certified CBD tampon, Daye is well on its way to establishing itself as a leader in the field of gynaecological health. The startup has raised nearly £19 million to date, with prominent investors such as Martin Varsavsky, founder of Prelude—the world's largest chain of fertility clinics—and the American venture capital firm Khosla Ventures contributing to its growth.
