Byway, the travel tech startup based in London, has recently secured £5 million in Series A funding to invest in its journey-based travel technology and expand into new markets. The funding round was oversubscribed and led by Heartcore Capital, with participation from Eka Ventures and re-investing Byway angels. This investment will be used to further develop Byway's unique journey-planning technology, JourneyAI, and to support its expansion efforts into new regions.
As the demand for sustainable travel continues to grow, with a significant percentage of travelers expressing a desire to travel more sustainably and fly less, Byway is playing a key role in making flight-free holidays more mainstream.
Since its launch in March 2020, Byway has experienced significant growth, with customers saving 3,045 tonnes of carbon compared to flying and giving the company a 95% 5-star rating. Byway's JourneyAI technology is the world's first 100% flight-free holiday planner, offering personalized trips away from tourist hotspots.
The funding round was led by Heartcore Capital, known for investing in companies that bring happiness and enchantment to the world. With the new investment, Byway plans to expand its team, launch into new markets, and further develop its flight-free travel technology. The company has also received support from Eka Ventures, which focuses on sustainable consumption, and re-investing Byway angels. Byway's mission is to change the future of travel for the better and offer travelers a more fulfilling and sustainable holiday experience.
