Coopah, the innovative Run Coaching App, has made headlines with its recent announcement of a successful seed fundraise totaling an impressive £1.5 million. This significant round of funding was spearheaded by Redrice Ventures and Active Partners, two prominent investment firms recognized for their commitment to nurturing early-stage consumer brands. In addition to the leadership from these firms, London Marathon Events has demonstrated its confidence in Coopah by doubling down on its earlier investment made in 2023. The latest funding round is complemented by the participation of other notable entities, including Amrock Ventures, Tom Singh from Rianta Capital, as well as revered athletes like Alistair Brownlee MBE and esteemed athletics agent Ricky Simms, each bringing their unique perspective and support to the table.
The origins of Coopah trace back to 2022 when co-founder Pete Cooper faced personal adversity following a family bereavement that plummeted him into severe depression.
It was during this tumultuous period that he discovered running as a therapeutic outlet, helping him reclaim control over his physical and mental health. Running not only served as a personal refuge for Cooper but also illustrated the transformative power of the sport on well-being; however, with a staggering 58% of new runners abandoning the endeavor within the first month, Coopah aims to counter this trend. Through the implementation of personalized training plans, real-time AI-powered feedback, and a vibrant community-driven motivational environment, Coopah is positioned to support runners in establishing sustainable habits and exceeding their race ambitions.
The recent funding marks a pivotal moment for Coopah as it prepares to enhance its offerings and broaden its reach within the running community. The company intends to utilize the funds to amplify its marketing efforts and deepen investments in its core product, aiming to develop smarter, more adaptive training plans powered by AI. Additionally, the onboarding of former Strava global marketing lead Gareth Nettleton as Chief Marketing Officer signifies a strategic leap forward, positioning Coopah to harness his extensive experience in scaling consumer sports applications and outreach. With the backing of seasoned investors like Jonathan Heilbron from Redrice Ventures and Courtney Sawatzke from Active Partners, Coopah is set to unleash its potential in promoting running as a transformative experience, thus making strides towards its vision of delivering the 'medicine of running' to everyone around the globe.
