Flagstone, the UK's leading cash deposit platform, has recently announced a £108 million equity investment by Estancia Capital Partners, a US financial services specialist private equity firm. This investment will be used to strengthen Flagstone's market leadership and take advantage of expansion opportunities both in the UK and internationally. The deal, one of the largest equity investments in UK fintech since the beginning of 2024, is a combination of primary and secondary investments that reward Flagstone's earliest backers.
Co-founded by Andrew Thatcher and Simon Merchant in 2015, Flagstone's ambition was to create a service-driven fintech platform that helps UK savers maximize their savings.
Today, Flagstone is the largest UK cash savings platform with over 200 savings account offerings available from 60 leading cash savings providers. With a customer base of over 600,000 and total assets under administration exceeding £11 billion, Flagstone has had five consecutive quarters of profitable growth and continues to see significant growth opportunities within the £1.7 trillion UK savings market.
Flagstone's success and growth strategy have been recognized by Estancia, who are excited to take a minority stake in the business. Through this partnership, Flagstone aims to further consolidate its position in the cash deposit market, enhance brand awareness, strengthen partnerships, and deliver competitive savings products with premium customer service. With Estancia's investment and market expertise, Flagstone is well-positioned to capitalize on the opportunities ahead and maintain its market leadership in the UK and beyond.
