Get Well Soon, a trailblazing healthcare startup, is revolutionizing the way patients access medical specialists and self-pay healthcare services. The company recently secured an impressive £400,000 in additional investment from the West Midlands Equity Co-Investment Fund, marking a significant milestone in its journey. This funding round, led by Midven—an integral player in supporting high-growth companies in the Midlands—attracted contributions from both new and existing investors, notably including the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF). This substantial backing underscores the growing recognition of Get Well Soon's innovative approach to enhancing patient care.
The newly acquired investment of £201,000 from the West Midlands Co-Investment Fund (WMCO), which was established by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and the West Midlands Pension Fund, will allow Get Well Soon to further develop its unique platform. This platform effectively connects self-pay patients with private hospitals, clinics, and specialist surgeons, addressing the urgent demand for self-pay surgical options within the UK. With an emphasis on alleviating the burdens associated with long waiting lists and inefficiencies prevalent in the current healthcare system, Get Well Soon serves as a market disruptor in the field. As a member of the Medmin Group, headquartered in the West Midlands, the company has become the first independent booking platform of its kind in the UK, providing patients with transparent pricing and an efficient booking process.
Looking to the future, Get Well Soon plans to broaden its array of medical procedures and expand its network of established clinicians. Currently, the platform boasts collaborations with 50 surgeons offering a range of treatments, including orthopedics, urology, and general surgery. The platform receives over 3,000 monthly visitors who are eager to find quick and accessible options for elective surgeries. Simon Radley, CEO and Co-Founder of Get Well Soon, expressed excitement regarding the funding, stating that it would significantly enhance the healthcare experience for patients in the Midlands. He noted the importance of removing barriers that patients face while seeking self-pay services and remains committed to empowering them with the choice and information they need to make informed health decisions.
