HealthKey brings to market a healthtech platform that gives easy and affordable access to best-in-class health services, following a successful pilot with Aviva employees in London, UK. The pioneering UK Healthtech firm announced the closure of a £1.13 million seed round, led by Aviva Ventures, with support from Ascension, Oxford Capital, and Cur8 Capital. The company was founded by ex-Thriva and SeedLegals healthtech and engineering experts, David Joerring and Tudor Cotop, with the aim of changing how healthcare is accessed and paid for. The technology is set to address the struggle within healthcare to unlock the power of preventative health and bridge the gap between payers and providers.
The company’s announcement comes after comments made by England’s Chief Medical Officer, Sir Chris Witty, at the Nuffield Health Summit, where he emphasized the importance of disease prevention to ensure the future sustainability of the NHS.
By bridging the gap between payers and providers, HealthKey aims to make it simple for users to access a wide range of healthcare solutions and services. The successful 9-month pilot with Aviva’s workforce involved 800 participants, showcasing the platform's effectiveness in providing easy access to personalized health services, particularly in underfunded areas like early diagnosis, women’s health, mental health, and neurodiversity.
Central to HealthKey’s platform is giving users full ownership over the health services they access, streamlining the payment process for health and well-being services from various payer sources. By combining information about employer healthcare policies with a broad range of healthcare services, the platform makes proactive and preventative health accessible to employees. Some of the products and services available on HealthKey include reproductive health specialists, mental well-being solutions, preventative healthcare experts, weight loss and nutrition support, and various health payers such as insurers, employers, benefit platforms, and Employee Assistance Programmes. With funding secured, HealthKey plans to enhance its platform’s capabilities and expand integrations with health and life insurers, health plan providers, and corporate employers.
