Inforcer, recognized as the foremost solution for Microsoft multi-tenant management, has made headlines by successfully raising a substantial $19 million (£14.6 million) in a Series A financing round. This significant funding round was spearheaded by Meritech Capital, a prominent investor in technology ventures, which has notably led investments in other managed service provider (MSP) vendors like Huntress and Rewst. Meritech Capital is also known for its past contributions to leading tech giants, including Salesforce, Meta, Snowflake, and Datadog. In a strategic move accompanying this financing, Tanner Bhonslay, a partner at Meritech Capital, will join the inforcer board alongside Christian Nagele, the former co-founder of Centrastage (now part of Datto RMM).
Founded by industry experts Jamie Daum, Will Connor, Rory McInerney, and Richard Thompson, inforcer harnesses the robust security technologies embedded within Microsoft 365.
The aim is to assist managed service providers in securing the environments of end-users and adhering to the constantly evolving landscape of cybersecurity regulations. Tanner Bhonslay expressed his confidence in the inforcer team, stating, "Jamie and the inforcer team truly embody the ‘Channel-First’ mentality and have dedicated their careers towards improving the operations of MSPs." By simplifying the configuration of Microsoft security policies in a multi-tenant environment, inforcer equips MSPs with the tools necessary to enhance their security measures, boost internal productivity, and provide innovative security offerings, ensuring that these providers remain competitive in an ever-changing market.
The $19 million (£14.6 million) influx from Meritech demonstrates strong support for inforcer as it experiences rapid growth, allowing the firm to push forward with its ambitious plans and further develop its broad community of MSPs addressing intricate Microsoft challenges. Inforcer’s capabilities include automating the deployment of Microsoft policies and security baselines across numerous tenants, a process typically performed manually. This automation enables MSPs to create new wrap-around security services, utilizing existing Microsoft technologies that often come included with clients' licenses. As they continue to provide ongoing reporting, remediation tools, and regular product updates that align with Microsoft's release schedule, inforcer is uniquely positioned to help MSPs capitalize on Microsoft’s Secure Score-as-a-Service initiative. Jamie Daum, CEO of inforcer, highlighted the transition in the MSP landscape, noting, "We’re seeing a trend of MSPs re-skilling their teams to leverage the Microsoft security stack and become Managed Microsoft Security Service Providers—what we call MSP 2.0."
