IsomAb, a Nottingham, UK-based biopharmaceutical company, recently announced that they have raised £7.5M in funding. The funding round was led by Broadview Ventures, with the participation of MEIF Proof of Concept & Early Stage Fund, managed by Mercia Ventures, part of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, Mercia’s EIS funds, and existing investor SCVC. This new capital infusion will be used by IsomAb to conduct further studies in preparation for the initiation of clinical trials.
Founded in 2022 by Prof.
David Bates and Prof. Steve Harper as a spin-out from the University of Nottingham, IsomAb is spearheaded by CEO Jackie Turnbull. The company is focused on developing treatments for peripheral arterial disease (PAD), a condition where the arteries in the legs and feet become blocked by fatty deposits, leading to insufficient blood flow. IsomAb is dedicated to advancing isoform-specific antibodies for the treatment of life-limiting diseases associated with peripheral ischemia. Their lead program, ISM-001, is a high-affinity, humanized antibody designed to restore blood flow in diabetic vascular disease.
Located in Nottingham’s BioCity and currently employing six staff members, IsomAb is committed to delivering innovative solutions for patients with PAD and related conditions. CEO Jackie Turnbull expressed enthusiasm about the company's progress, stating, “We are thrilled to have secured investment from a group of reputable investors to support the development of our novel program aimed at addressing peripheral arterial disease. Our goal is to advance our lead program towards CTA filing and ultimately bring it to clinical trials, with the potential to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.”
