A new and exciting print-on-demand merchandise platform has officially begun its operations within a facility located in Greater Manchester. This development comes on the heels of successfully securing £350,000 through an oversubscribed pre-seed fundraising round. Originally aiming to raise £250,000, this influx of investment has substantially exceeded expectations, allowing Merchr's founders to enhance the company’s technology, invest in state-of-the-art equipment, and expand the team. This critical funding will play a key role in bringing their innovative service to a wider audience.
Founded by a talented and experienced team, Merchr is spearheaded by Martin Varley, a prominent senior executive known for his extensive background in the personalised products industry.
Co-founders Nora Yassin and Jack Fox play pivotal roles as head of partnerships and head of operations, respectively. Together, they have successfully assembled a robust team of 12 individuals, comprising front-end developers, production staff, marketing specialists, and administrative personnel. This dedicated workforce is poised to drive the launch of Merchr, with future expansions planned as the company continues to grow. The senior development team features key players like Seth Regan overseeing technology and development, Sharon Watson in charge of production, and Sarah O’Donovan coordinating brand and marketing efforts.
Merchr is designed to assist individuals and various organizations in establishing their own merchandise collections, enabling them to engage with audiences in an environmentally friendly and risk-free manner. This platform targets a diverse clientele, including charities, educational institutions, sports teams, influencers, and creative performers. Users can create an online store through the Merchr Hub, where they can customize and upload their product designs, logos, and artwork. By connecting with existing e-commerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, store owners can manage their collections effortlessly. Merchr provides a streamlined process, allowing merchandise to be printed and dispatched within 24 hours, effectively transforming how people approach merchandise sales. As Nora Yassin stated, “Setting up a merchandise store is free and extremely easy – it can be achieved in less than eight minutes,” underscoring the platform’s accessible and user-friendly nature. This innovation aims to redefine retail by minimizing waste and addressing the contemporary demand for personalized products.
