How we track and rank UK startup funding.
Startupmag is both a news publisher and a data provider. Every funding round we cover feeds into our databases, and every database update strengthens our reporting. This two-way connection ensures that our news is grounded in verifiable data, while our data remains current through daily editorial coverage. Our goal is to provide founders, investors and partners with accurate information and clear context in one place.
We collect funding information from verified press releases, public filings, direct founder and investor outreach, and editorial submissions. All amounts are standardised into GBP for consistency.
The database includes equity funding rounds for UK-based startups. Debt financing, grants, or undisclosed investments are excluded unless clearly specified. Each round is time-stamped by the date of its announcement.
Rankings are based on deal size and calculated by month, year, or across the full dataset. Figures reflect the Startupmag database at the time of publication and may change as additional rounds are added.
We update funding rounds daily, with rankings recalculated automatically. This ensures our coverage remains accurate and current.
If you spot an error in our data, please contact editor@startupmag.co.uk. Corrections are published promptly and timestamped for accountability.
