Episode 1, a venture capital firm based in London, UK, recently concluded the closing of its third fund, which raised a total of £76m. This successful round of fundraising was made possible by various key contributors, including a £20m cornerstone commitment from British Patient Capital and the National Security Strategic Investment Fund, as well as Molten. Notably, more than a third of the new fund's Limited Partners (LPs) are former or current founders, with 21 of them having previously received backing from Episode 1. Among the notable founder LPs are Alex Chesterman, Aidan Corbett, Aron Gelbard, and Alex MacDonald.
Alex Chesterman, the founder of successful ventures such as Zoopla and Cazoo, has chosen to become an LP for Episode 1's new fund. Aidan Corbett, the founder of Wayflyer, Aron Gelbard, the founder of Bloom & Wild, and Alex MacDonald, the founder of Velocity Black and Sequel, have also joined as founder LPs. Their inclusion in the fund reflects the trust and confidence they have in Episode 1's investment strategies and potential for generating significant returns.
