The investment comes from private equity firm Capital D and will be used to expand the company's business reach. Co-founded in 2021 by Ian Shepherd and Owen Maher, Electrify Video Partners focuses on investing in and growing established YouTube channels.
The company offers a range of services to its acquired channels, including investment and expertise to build a team and create more content, resources to scale content across multiple platforms, unique insights through proprietary data to drive audience engagement, new commercial opportunities, and guidance and mentoring from industry veterans. Since its launch in 2021, Electrify has invested in channels across various genres, accumulating over 30 million subscribers. Some notable acquired channels include Veritasium, a leader in digital video content for science education and entertainment, the Astrum channel, which has become a trendsetter in the space and astronomy enthusiast community, SpitBrix, a channel dedicated to celebrating the world of Lego, and Fizzy, a channel that entertains and explores the realm of games.
The funding from Capital D will enable Electrify Video Partners to further enhance its operations and grow its portfolio of YouTube channels.
