Founded in 2018 by the visionary ex-NASA scientist Dr.
Kyle Grant and Oxford engineer Tom de Wilson, Oxwash offers a cutting-edge on-demand laundry service that prioritizes sustainability. The company’s mission centers on achieving net-zero carbon emissions throughout its entire operational process, which includes the collection of laundry, the washing phase, and the final delivery. To accomplish this ambitious goal, Oxwash employs innovative technologies such as water-saving ozone technology, which sterilizes fabrics at lower temperatures, and utilizes advanced thermal and biodegradable chemical processes that achieve disinfection levels exceeding even medical standards. Their eco-friendly initiative continues with the use of dissolvable laundry bags and electric cargo bikes to facilitate hyper-local pickups and deliveries, showcasing their commitment to environmental sustainability.
As they continue to grow, Oxwash now boasts a customer base of over 8,000 individual clients, along with partnerships with respected organizations such as the Marriott Hotel Group, Hurr Collective, and the National Health Service (NHS). Recently, as part of this funding round, the company participated in Collective Impact, an intensive five-week investment readiness program orchestrated by Crowdcube and Virgin StartUp, the entrepreneurial arm of the Virgin Group, specifically tailored for purpose-driven businesses. This additional mentorship and funding opportunity is expected to bolster Oxwash's efforts in expanding its team, investing in proprietary technology, and accelerating its plans for national growth, thus reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable laundry solutions.
