LabGenius Secures £35M Series B Funding for Drug Discovery
LabGenius, a London-based drug discovery company, recently announced a successful Series B funding round, raising £35M. The funding was led by M Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of science and technology company Merck, with new investors such as Octopus Ventures and LG Corp joining existing investors like Atomico, Kindred Capital, Lux Capital, and Obvious Ventures. This latest investment brings LabGenius' total funding to an impressive £58M, providing a solid financial base for the company.
The company plans to use the newly acquired funds to advance their proprietary machine learning-driven drug discovery platform, which accelerates the identification of biotherapeutics.
Additionally, LabGenius aims to further develop its pipeline of multispecific antibodies designed for treating solid tumors, moving them closer to clinical trials. Led by CEO Dr. James Field, LabGenius is known for its innovative approach to discovering next-generation therapeutic antibodies, utilizing their platform EVA™, which integrates artificial intelligence, robotic automation, and synthetic biology technologies.
With the new funding round, LabGenius has also welcomed new members to its Board of Directors, including Oliver Hardick from M Ventures and Oliver Sims from Octopus Ventures. They join existing Directors Irina Haivas of Atomico, Leila Zegna of Kindred Capital, CEO James Field, and Independent Chair Edwin Moses. This diverse and experienced group will help guide the company's strategic direction and support its mission of pioneering the discovery of groundbreaking therapeutics.
