Luminous Group, a Newcastle-based company founded by Ben Bennett and Ian Wilson, has secured £1M in funding for its immersive training programmes using extended reality software. The funding round, led by North East Venture Fund and supported by the European Regional Development Fund managed by Mercia Ventures, brings the total investment in the company to over £1.9m. Luminous Group plans to use the funds to expand its technology reach, create new jobs, and enhance its platform to allow companies to create their own training programs. Additionally, the funding will support the launch of a marketplace for training providers to sell their own content.
Luminous Group’s Luminous XR platform combines augmented, mixed, and virtual reality to create efficient and trackable training programs.
The platform is particularly suitable for energy companies and manufacturers, as it can replicate real-life situations, including hazardous environments, in a safe and repeatable manner. The company has already secured a major contract from a Middle East energy company and has recently opened an international office in Bahrain. With plans to open an office in Saudi Arabia and launch a global marketing campaign, Luminous Group is set to further expand its presence.
With the recent funding injection, Luminous Group is well-positioned to bring its immersive training programs to a wider audience and revolutionize the way companies train their employees. The focus on creating a self-service platform and launching a marketplace for training providers demonstrates the company's commitment to empowering organizations to develop their own content and share knowledge within the industry. Given the increasing demand for immersive training solutions, Luminous Group’s innovative approach is set to drive significant growth in the coming years.
