This article covers Nous, a fintech startup, which has raised £13m in a seed funding round led by Heartcore Capital with participation from Mosaic Ventures, Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners and Bain Future Back Ventures. The funding will support Nous’s international expansion and product development to extend regulated capabilities and everyday chore support for its household AI agent, targeting households that use consumer fintech services.
Nous, a fintech startup, has raised £13 million in a seed funding round led by Heartcore Capital with participation from existing investor Mosaic Ventures, Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners and Bain Future Back Ventures. The capital will fund international expansion, new product features, the extension of regulated capabilities and broader everyday chore support for Nous’s household AI agent.
Nous is positioning itself at the intersection of consumer fintech and personal AI agents, a space that could change how households manage recurring spending. The company says it now manages more than £685 million of household spending in the UK, covering an average of £2,765 of annual spending per home and saving a typical household £734 across bills. Those figures help explain why investors are paying attention: almost 250,000 homes use Nous, with tens of thousands signing up each week.
If broadly adopted, AI agents that take action on routine payments and contracts could rework large swathes of consumer finance. Nous cites a broader market context in which UK households spend about £1.7 trillion a year on automated or low-attention payments — a pool of spending that agents could increasingly manage.
Nous’s agent focuses on household bills and contracts such as energy, broadband, mobile and car insurance. Unlike apps that only surface recommendations or reminders, Nous says its agent can make decisions and take actions: finding cheaper deals, carrying out provider switches, cancelling subscriptions, filling out forms and flagging costly renewal terms.
Beyond financial tasks it handles family calendars, deadline reminders, sources local tradespeople and books appointments. The product combines large language models with rules-based logic for sensitive actions and operates as an FCA-registered tool able to support regulated activities such as purchasing insurance. Nous also says it does not sell customer data or monetise through advertising, framing its business model as aligned to customer interests.
The round was led by Heartcore Capital, joined by existing seed backer Mosaic Ventures and new participants Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners and Bain Future Back Ventures. Heartcore’s involvement signals continued investor interest in consumer-facing fintech tools that apply AI to everyday financial decisions.
Max Niederhofer, General Partner at Heartcore Capital, said:
Personal agents will transform the way we make household purchasing decisions and thus transform the economy in ways that benefit the end consumer. We're deeply excited by the work that Greg and the Nous team are doing at the frontier of personal agents and are thrilled to be backing them as they built a next-gen platform.

Greg Marsh, Founder and CEO at Nous, framed the product as practical and aimed at households that carry most of the mental load for routine admin. He emphasised reliability and safety as drivers of adoption.
Greg Marsh, Founder & CEO at Nous, said:
This isn't a toy for tech bros. The vast majority of our users are women, typically working mums, who have to carry much of the mental load for their household. They want something that works and that they know is safe and reliable. The speed at which Nous is being adopted demonstrates its ability to save people huge amounts of money and time. We're at the start of a profound shift in consumer behaviour enabled by AI. UK households spend £1.7tn a year on things they pay for automatically and don't have time to think about. We predict that more than half of that will be managed by agents within the next decade. The funding will be used to scale the platform internationally, broaden the range of regulated activities the agent can manage and add features to handle more everyday chores.
Nous’s raise highlights a broader trend among UK fintechs and fintech investors towards automating low-attention household spending with AI. FCA registration and an emphasis on privacy are likely to be differentiators as competition increases and regulators scrutinise agent-led decision making. For consumers, the shift promises time and cost savings; for the startup ecosystem it signals growing investor appetite for businesses that combine AI with clear regulatory pathways and direct consumer value.
The outcome will be important for the UK and European markets as household-focused AI agents scale and interact with incumbent providers, consumer protections and data rules.
