Axo Longevity, a biotech startup, has closed a seed funding round of £3.7m to accelerate the rollout of its preventive health membership across Europe and deepen integrations with laboratory partners and wearables. The capital will support geographic expansion, product development and growth of its clinical and laboratory network — a move that matters as consumer access to comprehensive biomarker testing remains fragmented across the region.
Preventive testing and personalised health plans are gaining traction as consumers look to detect risk earlier than traditional symptom-driven care allows. Axo Longevity’s model combines large-panel blood testing with repeat monitoring, a health score and action plans — aiming to shift some health decisions from reactive to preventive care. If the service can deliver reliable longitudinal data and actionable guidance at scale, it could influence how primary care and employers view routine biomarker screening.
The company’s quick move from build to live operations in 12 weeks and a 19,000-strong waitlist signal real demand, but the business will need to prove repeat engagement and clinical utility across multiple national healthcare markets to sustain growth.
Axo Longevity offers a tiered membership model. Its core product, Axo Longevity Care, is priced at €490 a year and includes two comprehensive blood panels per year, each analysing more than 100 biomarkers, an Axo Health Score and a calculation of biological age. Memberships start from €190 a year. Members book blood draws at partner laboratories, receive results benchmarked against optimal ranges rather than population averages, and are encouraged to retest after six months to track changes.
The service is live in six European markets — the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands — and has also launched in Peru. It is supported by a network of over 1,400 laboratory locations through certified partners including Randox, Sussex Pathology, Eurofins, MDI Limbach and Multilab. These partners provide the operational capacity for blood draws and testing; each plays a role in scaling availability and standardising test quality.
Clinical leadership includes Chief Medical Officer Dr Niko Mihic, Medical Supervisor at Real Madrid FC and a former Head of NBA Research in Europe, and Executive Longevity Advisor Andy Walshe, PhD, formerly Head of High Performance at Red Bull and an adviser to national Olympic programmes.
The round was supported by a mix of corporate venture, VC and angel backers. Named participants include MS&AD Ventures, Izou Partners, LifeX Ventures, Everywhere Ventures, UNQ, 51 Ventures, Cistern Capital and NIAN Sports & Entertainment, alongside angel investors such as Dr Jorge Planas of Clinica Planas Barcelona and Daniel Kulle, former President of H&M and former CEO of Forever 21.
In the announcement, Jon Soberg, CEO and Managing Partner of MS&AD Ventures, said:
Axo Longevity is live in six countries with Europe’s largest working laboratory network and members returning for repeat testing - that’s exactly the kind of execution we look for.
Investor interest appears to reflect two bets: first, that consumer demand for preventive, data-driven health services will grow; second, that operational execution — building a compliant pan-European lab network and securing clinical advisory capacity — is a critical moat. The mix of corporate and VC names suggests both strategic and financial motives, while the presence of healthcare practitioners and retail-experienced angels points to a focus on product-market fit and routes to consumer acquisition.
If you're researching potential backers in this space:
In the announcement, Andrew McCarthy, Co-founder and CEO of Axo Longevity, said:
I looked healthy. I trained, I ate well, I had no symptoms. If I had graded my health from one to ten, I would have said nine. In reality I was closer to a six. A full biomarker panel showed cardiovascular risk indicators that would have gone undetected for years. We’re building a service for what happens after the test.
The company frames its product as more than diagnostics: it emphasises follow-up and personalised plans tied to the data. In the announcement, Sergio Tang, Co-founder and Chief Product and Growth Officer, said:
Europe has exceptional clinical infrastructure, but for consumers it is fragmented, and they might only be able to access it when they are sick. We are delivering a single membership experience that works seamlessly and equips people with a data-driven understanding of their health - and a clear action plan of exactly what to do next.
This funding will allow us to grow our laboratory network, continue to develop our AI health copilot and wearable integrations, and expand our services into the Nordics, Italy and Portugal.
Axo Longevity’s raise highlights continued investor interest in preventive health propositions that combine diagnostics, data and behaviour change. The challenge for the company — and others in this space — is demonstrating interventions that change outcomes cost-effectively and integrating with clinicians and payers who can scale adoption beyond early adopters.
For the UK and Europe, the deal is another data point in the maturation of the consumer health market: clinical infrastructure exists but access and standardisation vary by country. If startups can stitch together reliable lab capacity, regulatory compliance and clinically validated behavioural programmes, they may open new pathways for earlier risk detection and management.
The round also underscores the role of international investor syndicates in backing European healthtech and biotech businesses as they move from product launch to cross-border scale.
