IMU Biosciences, a techbio company based in London, has announced the successful completion of a £11.5 million Series A financing round. The funding round was led by European tech VC Molten Ventures, with participation from LifeX Ventures and other individuals. IMU Biosciences is leveraging deep immune profiling and its proprietary AI platform, CytAtlas®, to create a comprehensive immune atlas that spans various areas of human health and disease. The company's approach has significant applications in immune-oncology, cell therapy, autoimmune disorders, and transplantation.
In the field of immuno-oncology, IMU's technology enables rapid immunophenotyping from liquid biopsy samples, allowing patients to be matched with the most effective therapy.
It also provides real-time immune monitoring throughout the patient's journey to maximize therapeutic impact and safety. In cell therapy, IMU's platform is applied to identify immune signatures in donors that predict efficient and consistent cell therapy expansion, thereby improving manufacturing efficiency.
The Series A funding will be used to advance IMU Biosciences' CytAtlas® platform, expand its operations in the Boston/Cambridge area, and foster new strategic partnerships. The company aims to revolutionize precision medicine by improving its effectiveness, reducing failure rates in clinical trials, and making therapies more viable in the long run. IMU Biosciences was founded in 2021 by Dr. Adam Laing, Dr. Tom Hayday, and Mario Cantero, based on research conducted at King's College London.
