This article covers Konsileo, an insurtech startup, which has raised £5m in a growth funding round led by long-term shareholder Committed Capital with participation from ACF Investors. Konsileo, an insurtech startup, has raised £5 million in a growth funding round led by long-term shareholder Committed Capital with participation from ACF Investors. The funding will be used to develop its proprietary broking platform and recruit more brokers, a move that matters because it underlines investor appetite for technology-led commercial insurance broking and for operating models that prioritise broker autonomy and advisory capability.
The injection of capital comes as traditional commercial broking faces pressure to reduce administrative overhead, strengthen compliance and lift the quality of risk advice. Konsileo arranges more than £85 million in annual premiums and employs over 220 people, giving it scale in the UK market without relying on acquisition-led growth. Its approach — combining a flat, coaching-led organisational model and in-house technology — offers an alternative to conventional line-management-heavy brokerages and signals where investor interest is moving in insurtech.
Konsileo has built a proprietary broking platform designed to automate administrative tasks, embed compliance checks and capture higher-quality risk information. The company says the platform now incorporates AI to support brokers, aiming to reduce time spent on non-client work and improve advice. Alongside technology, the firm runs the Konsileo Academy, an internal training programme intended to develop brokers’ professional skills and help them build client portfolios within a reward model that recognises relationship value.
The round was led by Committed Capital, described by Konsileo as a long-term shareholder, with participation from ACF Investors. ACF has previously backed the company, with the firm noting an initial investment in 2022.
Committed Capital CEO Steven Harris, commenting on the deal, said:
We are delighted to have completed this round and to deepen our long-standing commitment to Konsileo. John, Peter and the team have built one of the fastest-growing independent brokers in the UK, and they have done it organically, broker by broker, rather than through acquisition. That growth rests on two things that are very hard to replicate: a proprietary broking platform that strips out administration, embeds compliance and is now putting AI to work for brokers, and a culture that consistently attracts the most talented people in the industry. Konsileo is showing what a modern commercial broker looks like, and we look forward to supporting the team through its next phase of growth.
Tim Mills, Managing Partner at ACF Investors, added:
Konsileo continues to bring much-needed innovation to commercial insurance broking, combining smart technology with a model that empowers brokers to deliver a better service for clients. Since our initial investment in 2022, the business has built significant momentum, demonstrating the strength and scalability of its approach. We’re excited to continue supporting John and the team as they enter their next phase of growth.
If you're researching potential backers in this space:
John Warburton, Co-founder and CEO, framed the raise as a way to keep investing in people and technology as Konsileo approaches its tenth anniversary. Warburton brings more than 20 years of insurance and consulting experience from Aviva, Accenture and Allianz, while co-founder and COO Peter Henderson is a technologist and former enterprise software founder.
John Warburton, Co-founder & CEO, said:
We’ve always believed that great brokers do their best work when you give them autonomy, equip them properly and support them rather than manage them. Our growth is a testament to what happens when you offer something genuinely different to ambitious brokers who want to build brilliant client relationships. This investment means we can keep attracting great people, investing in our platform and building on the momentum we’ve created as we approach our tenth anniversary. We’re delighted to have the continued support of both Committed Capital and ACF Investors, who understand both our model and our ambitions for the business.
Konsileo’s raise sits within a broader trend of funding flowing to startups that combine sector expertise with workflow automation and compliance tooling. For commercial insurance, where margins and customer trust hinge on accurate risk assessment, the promise of better data capture and lower admin burdens is a clear value proposition. The company’s external recognitions — including placement in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 (best medium-sized organisation in financial services), Best Insurance Employer (SME) at the 2025 British Insurance Awards and Commercial Lines Broker of the Year at the 2025 Insurance Times Awards — reinforce its employer brand as it hires.
The deal also reflects continuing interest from insurtech investors in companies that scale by recruiting and empowering talent rather than buying book value. In the UK and across Europe, expect further capital to target broking models that pair dedicated training and coaching with software that surfaces better customer and risk information.
