London-based Robin AI Secures $26 Million Funding for Expansion
London-based startup Robin AI has secured $26 million funding in a Series B round, led by Temasek. Other investors included QuantumLight, Plural, and AFG Partners. The company plans to use the funds to expand its team in the US, where the majority of its revenue is generated, establish a new office in Singapore to target the Asia Pacific region, and hire more AI and machine learning experts. Founded in 2019 by Richard Robinson and James Clough, Robin AI utilizes generative AI to automate the drafting and negotiation of contracts and extract information from contract repositories through simple search. Its legal copilot, which can be integrated as a Microsoft Word add-in, reduces contract review time by an impressive 85%, enabling legal teams to work faster, save costs, and allocate their time more strategically. Robin AI has also partnered with Anthropic as a launch partner for the release of their Large Language Model (LLM), Claude.
Robin AI operates a hybrid model, combining the Claude LLM with its own proprietary contract data and machine learning techniques to effectively analyze and comprehend contracts.
The company has a team of in-house legal professionals, referred to as "lawyers-in-the-loop," who work to enhance the model's accuracy and quality. Robin AI caters to a diverse customer base, serving large multinational corporations, SMEs, and scaleups.
The new funding will help Robin AI further expand its presence and capabilities. With significant revenue already coming from the US, the company aims to strengthen its team in the region.
