Spoke Secures £1.1 Million to Innovate Music Wellness
Spoke, an innovative music application provider based in London, UK, has successfully secured an impressive £1.1 million in Pre-Seed funding to propel its ambitious vision forward. This funding round was primarily led by Ada Ventures, known for its focus on impactful startups, and garnered participation from established entities like Bethnal Green Ventures. A notable list of industry pioneers joined the investment, including Nikhil Shah, who co-founded Mixcloud; Marla Shapiro, the founder of HERmesa; and Toby Moore, a co-founder of Space Ape Games. Additionally, the funding round saw contributions from Emma Blackburn, the CFO of Ascension Ventures, and prominent angel investor Ed Zimmerman, alongside Tom Adeyoola, the founder of Metail. This financial backing will enable Spoke to broaden its team, enhance its product offerings, and train more artists to craft music that positively influences the mental wellbeing of the younger generation.
At the helm of Spoke are CEO Ariana Alexander-Sefre and Co-CEO Michael Maher, who are diligently merging music with the therapeutic methodology of mindfulness.
This approach encourages individuals to focus on the present moment while acknowledging their feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. With an emphasis on mental health, Spoke is determined to help users cultivate a healthier mental state through carefully structured musical experiences. Currently, Spoke collaborates with over 25 talented musicians, including notable names such as Jordy, VIC, and Jamilah Barry. The creative force behind Spoke also features Lead Artist Lemzi and Executive Producer Daniel Miles, who contribute significantly to the artistic direction and production quality of the music.
