What Do Growth Investors Look For?

A growth VC (Growth Venture Capitalist) is an investor who funds companies that have moved past the early startup phase. These businesses have found their market, are generating strong revenue, and now need extra capital to accelerate expansion.

Established startups: Companies that have already scaled beyond the startup stage and are ready for the next level.

Big growth potential: Businesses with a proven ability to grow quickly and efficiently, needing capital to keep momentum.

Proven products: A product or service already validated by customers and generating consistent demand.

Expansion funding: Capital to support entry into new markets, team growth, or launching additional products.

Unlike early-stage investors, who back unproven ideas, growth VCs step in when a solid foundation is in place.

Growth funding often happens across different rounds, most commonly Series A, B and C. A Series A round usually supports a company that has found product–market fit and needs capital to scale its model. Series B funding helps accelerate growth further, often into new markets or larger teams. By Series C and beyond, investors back businesses aiming for major milestones such as international expansion, acquisitions, or preparing for an IPO.
